The Parent Awareness Network, sponsored by the Darien YWCA, is a family-focused program that provides support and education to parents and children in order to encourage the healthy, positive development of Darien youth and families.
Parent Awareness collaborates closely with parents, Darien school administrators and community leaders to provide numerous programs in the schools each year on a broad range of topics. Each of the Darien schools provides representatives to the Parent Awareness board. The board meets monthly to determine which parenting issues/concerns are foremost, and brings speakers on these issues to the schools.
All Parent Awareness programs (except for occasional special seminars) are free of charge, open to all parents and funded through private donations and the fundraising efforts of the YWCA and The Community Fund of Darien.
